September Swap

This month I did the swap at HSBA. I’m behind in posting pictures because, well I’m behind in everything. I haven’t posted in awhile because I’m behind in the things I want to post about! I suppose that is just life sometimes. My partner was the lovely gal from Our New Life.  My package arrived while I was out of town last week, and it was nice to decompress and open it when I got home.

My package included quite a few scrapbook/papercraft goodies, a necklace, some shaped stickies, and a decorated notebook. Thanks C!!

I have the best hubby

If you don’t believe me, just look at this great dinner he cooked:

More amazingly, that great looking “Chicken Cheese steak” is completely meat and dairy free!!! It’s easy to be veggie in this house!

And back to this again:

Do you love pattern blocks as much as I do? Does your kid make designs like this? Or just stack them on top of each other like mine currently does?

The Family Store

I’ve said for years, and I mean years before I had a kid and everything, that we’d utilize a credit system instead of allowance. I almost caved and did allowance, but reminded of the family store (it’s popped up all over the mom web recently hasn’t it?) and decided to stick with my original plan.  So thanks to every who posted about a family store, and made me stick with my plan. :)

I haven’t worked out all the details yet but the first inventory items have been purchased.

$20 for a backpack, lunch box, AND stainless steel water bottle. How could I pass that up??? I couldn’t, that’s how!

More details about how family store to come. In the meantime, tell me, do you have a family store? Or give allowance? What is your rewards system?

House or Houzz

Have you guys seen Houzz? If you like interiors and architecture you’ll LOVE it! It like a flickr for homes only, and you can save everything to your personal “idea book.”  There are also set idea books to look at, that other users have created. Anything from “fabric ottomans” to “Autumn.”

I could browse for hours!

Here are a few pics I’ve added to my idea book:

Dream Pantry kitchen
LOVE this pantry!!!!

This is SO classic and cute! Makes me want to sit down and do homework! Or write a letter.

Presidio heights apartment eclectic living room
I love the color here, but mine would be less likely to match.
living space eclectic bedroom
This is such a nice bedroom! I love the dark wall.
So, if you don’t already use it, and love design like I do, check out Houzz. Boy is it fun! And after you do, let me know how you like it :)

Decisions, Decisions

Well, I fixed it, but now i don’t like how my blog looks. It’s bland and boring and needs a better header, and …..

It turns out that somehow the HTML for the background I had was in a gadget box that was hidden until I changed the lay-out. Weird huh? I changed the layout and a second copyright notice box appeared, and in that box the HTML I needed.

Hopefully a blog design I like will have appeared by tonight. Hopefully.
